The Amajita/Kenya friendly is part of the preparations for the upcoming 2016 Under-20 COSAFA Cup which will take place in December at Moruleng Stadium in Rustenburg.
Thabo Cele of Portuguese second-tier side Real Sport Clube has also been called up, but Sporting Lisbon’s Liam Jordan and Zama Ramabuwane of Hapoel Ra’anana in Israel are unavailable.
Senong says GAIS Goteborg star Singh and Cele were always a part of his plans but they were not available for previous matches as they fell outside of FIFA dates.
“These four players have always been part of the team and unfortunately qualifiers do not fall under the FIFA calendar; therefore Luther and Thabo were not available for the qualifiers but Zama and Liam played very critical roles during them,” says Senong.
“We are looking forward to them bringing their experience into the team and ensuring that we do well in not only the COSAFA Cup but the CAF U-20 AFCON early next year and hopefully in the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup.”
Singh, who is being monitored by a host of top European clubs such as Real Madrid and Benfica, has been itching to get going in national team colours.
“I am honoured to be in coach Thabo Senong’s plans and I want to honour this camp. I was not able to join the team during the CAF U-20 AFCON qualifiers so I really hope that my club will release me for the tournament,” says Singh.
