The Bafana Bafana international acquitted himself well, and played the full 90 minutes in the number 10 position, just behind Gabon forward Malick Evouna. Yet neither could find the back of the net as Konyaspor suffered a 2-0 defeat, thanks to goals from Cenk Tosun and Portugal international Ricardo Quaresma.
The loss leaves Konyaspor in 15th position on the 18-team log, with three points after five games, while Besiktas join rivals Galatasaray at the top of the table with 13 points.
Elsewhere, Ralani enjoyed a night to remember for Swedish club Helsingborg as he guided the club to a comfortable 2-0 win over Varberg in their Monday night league fixture. The Stars of Africa product scored a brace on the night, both well-placed strikes from outside the box, as his goals proved the difference, helping his side to maximum points.
The 29-year-old midfielder now has four league goals in 16 starts this season.
The victory leaves Helsingborg in fourth place in the Swedish Superettan, five points adrift of Trelleborg who are in the final promotion play-off spot with six games left in the campaign.
