Players Abroad: Tau, Patosi shine brightest

Lebo Mothiba

Mothiba was a second-half substitute as he helped Strasbourg to a 1-1 draw with his former side Lille in Ligue 1 on Friday evening. The 23-year-old was on the park for 32 minutes.

Kyle Jacobs

Jacobs was on the scoresheet for Queen of the South but couldn’t help his side avoid a 2-1 defeat in their Scottish Championship clash against Alloa Athletic on Saturday evening. The 27-year-old played the full 90 minutes.

Keagan Jacobs

The 29-year-old Jacobs – brother to Kyle – played the full 90 minutes for his Scottish Premiership side Livingston, who beat Kilmarnock 1-0 on Saturday evening.

Lyle Foster

Foster was once again on the scoresheet for the Monaco reserve side but was unfortunate to end up on the losing side against Annecy in their fourth division clash on Saturday. The 18-year-old featured the full 90 minutes.

Kamo Mokotjo

Mokotjo was again on the scoresheet for Brentford, picking up his fourth goal of the season, as they went on to beat Hull City 5-1 in their English Championship clash on Saturday. The 27-year-old was substituted out after 72 minutes.

Bongani Zungu

Zungu has yet to return to action but Amiens registered an important 1-0 victory over Nice on Saturday to boost their Ligue 1 survival hopes, as they sit four points clear of the drop zone with 12 games left in the season.

Lebogang Phiri

Phiri once again played the full 90 minutes to help Guingamp to a massive 1-0 victory over Angers in Ligue 1 to gain ground on 18thand 19th-placed Dijon and Caen in their battle for survival. They’re now three points away from safety, with 12 games remaining.

Percy Tau

Tau was once again amongst the heroes for Belgian second division outfit Union Saint-Gilloise as he scored a brace inside the first eight minutes to set them on the way to a massive 5-0 victory over KV Mechelen on Saturday. The 24-year-old also won the penalty that sealed the rout but allowed his teammate to put the cherry on the cake instead of claiming his hattrick.

Siphiwe Tshabalala

‘Shabba’ went yet another match without any minutes as Erzurumspor suffered a 2-1 defeat to Ankaragucu on Sunday as they remained second from bottom in the Turkish Super Lig, with 11 games to go.

Thabo Cele

Cele helped Cova Piedade to a 2-1 victory over Benfica B in their Portuguese second division encounter on Sunday, with the 22-year-old managing 82 minutes under his belt.

Mihlali Mayambela

Mayambela returned to the scoresheet but saw his side Farense surrender their lead to go down 2-1 to 10-man Pacos de Ferreira in their Portuguese Segunda Liga clash on Sunday. The 22-year-old played the full 90 minutes.

Thulani Serero

Serero watched on from the bench as Vitesse registered a 3-0 victory over Emmen in their Eredivisie tie on Sunday afternoon. The club remains on course for a Europa League qualification play-off spot in fifth position.

Dolly continues his recovery and missed out on Montpellier’s 4-2 defeat to Reims on Sunday.

Ayanda Patosi

Patosi bagged his second goal in as many matches as well as an assist in Estaghlal’s 3-0 victory over Zob Ahan in the Persian Gulf League on Sunday, before being substituted out after 80 minutes.
