Football Academy Plus (FAP) has confirmed to KickOff.com that one of their most promising talents, Zidane Fouapon, has been awarded a contract by the Spanish side after impressing during a recent trial.
The 16-year-old South African central defender, who is of Cameroonian and French descent, will put pen to paper by the end of this week before returning to Valencia to adapt to his new surroundings.
FAP is a burgeoning network of nine football academies around the country that offers players between the ages of six and 21 the opportunity to develop in the pursuit of kick-starting their professional football careers.
After recently striking a partnership with Absa Premiership outfit Black Leopards in relation to running the club's youth academy, Fouapon's imminent signing marks another major milestone as their first European export.
Sebastijan Ribic, managing director of FAP, confirmed that the towering defender initially attended a trial at Valencia before receiving an offer from their crosstown rivals.
"We, at Football Academy Plus, are exceptionally proud of Zidane, and wish him everything of the best as he pursues his professional football career in Europe."
