Cherries hold thumbs for Rantie

Players Abroad

Howe is without Rantie for the next few weeks as the English Championship side continue their quest for promotion to the Barclays Premier League.

The Cherries are top of the table on 51 points after 26 matches, with 20 games to go, and if they can maintain their position Rantie could be playing in England's top tier next season.

“We have missed TK,” Howe tells the club's official website.

“That’s not just because of his ability but also for his infectious character around the place. We love working with him.

“We wish him well and hope he comes back fit and firing for what will be an important run-in for us.

“I have no doubt he will have a good tournament because he is a good player. We will follow his progress closely because he’s an integral part of our squad.

“We always knew this was on the horizon and that we were going to lose him, which doesn’t make it any easier from our perspective, but thankfully we are winning games without him.

“Our big hope is that he comes back fit and ready to play for us.”
