Strasbourg started the encounter as favourites after five wins in their last six games across all competitions and they maintained their course to set up a tie with En Avant de Guingamp in the final.
However, their opposition Bordeaux, displayed supreme composure and resilience to silence the Stade de la Meinau when Younousse Sankharé opened the scoring in the 14th minute, finishing off a clinical counter-attacking move.

But the second half was a totally different proposition for RCA, as they quickly overwhelmed in the visitors with their usual high pressing and attacking intensity that's seen them dubbed the surprise package of Ligue 1 this season.
After relentless waves of attacks, their clear domination earned rewarded by an equaliser through Ludovic Ajorque five minutes after the break.
Clearly shocked by the home side, Bordeaux looked more cautious after the equaliser and Mothiba made them pay with a quick-fire brace in the 55th and 60th minute respectively to take his overall tally to 10 goals for the season.

France international Jimmy Briand reduced the deficit in the 82nd minute but it proved nothing more than a minor consolation as Strasbourg held on for the victory, which marks a reward for their successful season so far.
With the fifth-placed Ligue 1 side progressing to the final, a South African will definitely lift the title as they face off against Phiri's Guingamp on March 30.
