The Brazil international arrived at PSG with huge expectation following his world-record £200m (R3.4b) move from FC Barcelona but immediately caused a stir within the camp due to public arguments with fellow star striker Cavani.
Cavani was Les Parisiens set-piece and penalty-taker during the previous season was pictured during games in disagreement with the 26-year-old and often had to be separated by teammates.
However, Neymar claims it was blown totally out of proportion and sensationalised by the media.
"It was made to sound bigger than it really was," he told TV Globo, as quoted by SportsKeeda. "Of course there was a certain tension, friction with Cavani, but we resolved it quickly.
"Three days after it happened, we all sat down and we talked. We're two great players, but we're also people and we had to resolve the personal side of things.
"But the reports which came out were much bigger, I think because that’s what sells: people oversell the stories, talk about things they shouldn't."
