Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic has revealed a message to his players following their stalemate against Cape Town City on the weekend.
Pirates succumbed to a potentially fatal draw away to The Citizens on Saturday in as far as the Absa Premiership title race is concerned.
After having their fate in their own hands, leading the standings and maintaining a healthy lead over second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns, The Buccaneers now find themselves just one point ahead while their rivals have a game in hand against Golden Arrows on Tuesday.
Asked what his message would be to his players amid the disappointment of their own result, Sredojevic refused to fault his charges’ efforts and maintained focus on their final clash at home to Polokwane City this coming Saturday.
“The message is very simple, they are fully aware that we are in competition and need to focus on our last match,” said Micho.
“The intention is to win that last match and to see where and how we are [positioned on the log]. It is a setback and a disappointment that we didn’t win.
“Despite giving everything, we didn’t get what we wanted, but we need to find a formula to keep them mentally up because all that we asked them to do, they did.
“We didn’t get profit from it, but we are now looking forward to the last match [against Polokwane City].”
