The game had little in the way of meaning for either side with Wits already confirmed in the top eight and Stars clear of the relegation zone and with no chance of reaching the top eight.
Bradley Grobler netted the opener, finishing the season with 13 goals, just two behind the League’s top-scorer Knowledge Musona.
Grobler tapped home a cross from Mduduzi Nyanda after some excellent work from the on-loan Orlando Pirates midfielder.
That was midway through the first half and it took until the 80th minute for Wits to draw level through Ryan Chapman after he was set up by Ketsie Koapeng.
Wits end the season in sixth position, while Platinum Stars finish in 10th, three places better off than the 13th position they managed in 2009/10.
Both sides now build for next season and will hope to kick-on from what have been improved League showings in the 2010/11 campaign.
