Matsatsantsa finished outside the top eight, struggling to perform well in the Absa Premiership after winning the MTN8 and reaching the CAF Confederation Cup final, where they lost to DRC giants TP Mazembe.
Letsholonyane, who was handed a one-year contract extension by Matsatsantsa, is going into his third season with the club and he is not hiding the fact that they want to go for the title.
“We’ve started with our pre-season and so far things are looking good. Players look good, they look sharp. You can see the break we had did wonders for us, because we have been playing a lot of football over the past three seasons,” Letsholonyane says.
“Players are motivated. They want to do well for themselves and for the team, because the most important thing is the team.
“Ever since I came here I have never said we want to be in the top eight and I know everyone who is here will never say that. As a club we are competing for everything that is available, from the league to Telkom Knockout, to Nedbank Cup to MTN8. I will not be shy to say we are going to compete for the league. All 16 teams want to win the league. That’s what we want.”
