Daine Klate was the hero for the home side, netting two goals and playing a hand in the others, the first of which was an own-goal from Ntokozo Sikhakhane on 15 minutes – and his afternoon was to get even worse.
Ten minutes later and the champions had extended their lead, with Thabo September perfectly placing a header past Mbongeni Mzimela and into the far corner.
That was the way it stayed until the break, but just three minutes into the second half and Klate had netted a third – another for him in an amazing purple patch of form which has also resulted in a recall to the Bafana Bafana set-up.
Brent Carelse then missed a penalty for the home side on the hour-mark, but two minutes later Klate added a fourth.
AmaZulu pulled two goals back late on through a cracker from Litha Ngxabi and Belux Bukasa Kasonga, but it did little to mask a disappointing performance from the strugglers, who also had Sikhakhane sent off late on for a crude challenge on Hlompo Kekane.
