After starting Russia 2018 with five representatives from the continent, Tunisia, Egypt, Morroco, and Nigeria have all suffered elimination at the first round.
Senegal remains the only hope to advance to the knock-out stage, in what would be only the second time in the countries' history after the class of 2002.
While the Lions of Teranga boast a powerful squad dominated by a strong European contingent, Napoli defender Koulibaly is confident of their chances against the 2014 quarter-finalists.
"It's up to us to make them proud, to fly the flag for Senegal and Africa at this World Cup," he told reporters, as quoted by BBC Football.
"We know we already have 15 million Senegalese behind us and now we have all the continent. They're all going to support us.
"I think it should be more of a positive thing rather than pressure," Koulibaly added in reference to being the last African side.
"We're going to do our utmost to get to the last 16 and I think we have everything we need to do that."
