The Santos goals were scored by Erwin Isaacs, Erwin Isaacs and Vuyisile Wana and the Free State goals came from Paulos Masehe, Petrus Mahlatsi and Noah Chivuta.
The rub of the green favoured the Peoples’ Team in the first-half and they scored rather fortunate opening goal after 10 minutes when Erwin Isaacs’ free-kick hit the wall and deflected into the net.
Stars had their chances – through Aleni Lebyane, Boitemelo Sekgobela and Thabo Matlaba, but could not make the breakthrough, despite some constructive play.
However, when Paulus Masehe made a mistake in defence, Vuyisile Wana snuck in top claim the ball and set up Jurie Basie for a simple score: 2-0 after 35 minutes.
The third arrived eight minutes later when Wana smashed home an amazing 35-yard drive into the roof of the net.
The first 30 minutes of the second half were all about Ea Lla Koto as they came storming right back.
Masehe got the ball rolling for the Free Staters, sending a superb effort into the top corner from just outside the box in the 51st minute.
And Ea Lla Koto were then right back in the game when Matalaba crossed for Zwelinjani Mahlatsi to finish with a cool strike, 3-2 in the 71st minute.
The come-back was completed four minutes later when substitute Noah Chivuta slammed the ball into the roof of the net, following up after his own initial effort was blocked by Tshepo Motsonoeng.
The balance of the game saw both sides with chances as both teams pushed hard for a winner.
Romano Scott missed a great chance right at the end for the Peoples’ Team.
