NFF opens gates for Kenya friendly

NFF President Aminu Maigari said the decision is in appreciation of the support offered to the Super Eagles in their 4-0 win over Ethiopia on Sunday.

“We greatly appreciate the support given the Super Eagles on Sunday and we are making this gesture in order to show appreciation to our teeming soccer fans,” said NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari.

However, access to the State Box and the State Box Extension would be strictly by invitation.

Nigeria secured her 2010 Fifa World Cup ticket in Nairobi on 14th November, 2009 with a 3-2 win over the Harambee Stars in the final match of the campaign, but it was a tough encounter that drew the best out of the Super Eagles.

Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Samson Siasia has recalled two players he released to the U-23 team for Saturday’s Olympic Games qualifier against Equatorial Guinea in Benin City: Nnamdi Oduamadi and Ekigho Ehiosun.

However, pacy winger Osaze Odemwingie and Victor Moses have travelled back to England following Sunday’s win over Ethiopia.

Also on Monday, the NFF appointed a former General Secretary of the Federation, Ambassador Fanny Ikhayere Amun as Match Commissioner for Tuesday’s game. The referees are from Benin Republic.
