Neymar handed two-match ban


The Barcelona forward was shown his marching orders after seemingly directing a headbutt at Colombian goal-scorer Jeison Murillo at the end of the game, causing a scuffle as both he and opponent Carlos Bacca were sent off.

The Copa America disciplinary board has now issued the 23-year-old with a two-match ban following his misdemeanour, meaning the Selecao star will miss side last group stage fixture against Venezuela on Sunday, and possibly their quarter-final clash, should they reach that stage of the competition.

However, the Brazilian Football Confederation have been given 24 hours to appeal the punishment, with the board set to make a final decision on the punishment on Friday.
