Maritzburg last played to a goalless league draw with Kaizer Chiefs on August 17.
Due to the MTN8 semi-finals this weekend, Mamelodi Sundowns' CAF commitments and the upcoming international break, Fadlu Davids' side will only return to action against log leaders Wits on September 15 at Harry Gwala Stadium.
However, new signings Yannick Zakri and Nazeer Allie are expected to have regained fitness by then, as well as defender Brian Onyango. Onyango had knee surgery last season after sustaining a knock in a game with Polokwane City in March.
Fortune Makaringe is also back from a two-match suspension, but fellow star midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu will start his two-game ban after getting sent off against Chiefs.
"Of course we are a new team. Ndlovu's out and Andrea Fileccia was out for the first games. Like I said now we have four weeks, a full month to really prepare, get everybody up to scratch," Davids said.
"Keletso Makgalwa joined us and immediately he had to start playing after two days of training. Nazeer Allie will be back, Brian Onyango will be back. Of course we'll miss Ndlovu but with the rest of the guys we will have a full squad, and that's what I'm really pleased about.
"We have a full month to really get everybody fit, everybody challenging for places. I'm sure when the time comes when we play Bidvest here we'll be a different team."
The Team of Choice, who were knocked out of the MTN8 by Cape Town City, are propping up the Absa Premiership table with a point from three league games.
