The hosts had taken an early second half lead when Thamsanqa Gabuza flicked Joseph Musondo’s long throw past Wayne Sandilands on 48 minutes.
However, Siyanda Zwane’s red card on 70 minutes for a second bookable offence proved the difference as the Mozambican left-back equalised with a direct free-kick from 25 metres out with eight minutes to go.
Arrows had dominated the early exchanges, with Richard Henyekane and Musa Bilankulu both coming close with curling efforts. Mbulelo Mabizela also blocked Zwane’s goalbound effort, while Thanduyise Khuboni saw his long-range effort sail inches wide.
Gabuza’s goal just after the break seemed to stun Stars into action, as Helton da Rocha was finally called into action, saving expertly from Thabiso Monareng. The Brazilian keeper then denied Alton Meiring and Lobo from only six yards out, but was helpless to stop the latter’s curling effort on 82 minutes.
Lobo nearly scored a winner late on but, after some great build-up play, his shot flew over the bar.
