Matsatsantsa extened their winless run in the Absa Premiership to six matches after the stalemate with Chiefs on Saturday evening.
Gould reveals they wanted more than a point, but was pleased to see the team carry out the gameplan.
"Chiefs is a fast-paced attacking team. Youngster all over and quality players," Gould to SuperSport TV.
"We stuck to our game plan, we wanted something better than this but in a game of football you can only plan and if you don't execute it doesn't happen.
Gould also had some kind words for Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande after the stalemate.
"Look, he's a quality player and an international, I've got the utmost respect for him," he added.
"No matter what people say, he is a gifted player and I think he is the backbone of Chiefs, if he's not there, it's a bit of shaky Chiefs."
