FIFA Rankings: Gabon overtakes Nigeria

Gabon, who moved up three places, have taken Nigeria's place as the fourth best team on the continent.

Except for Madagascar, who dropped nine places to 154 in the world and 41 in Africa, Nigeria's group rivals in the 2012 African Nations Cup qualifiers all saw significant progress.

Guinea moved up a massive 21 places to 81 in the world and 18th in Africa while Ethiopia jumped nine places to 135 in the world and 37th in Africa.

Egypt stayed top in the African rankings, followed by Ghana and Ivory Coast.

There was little movement in the top five of the worldwide rankings, with Spain and Holland holding on to the top two places. Germany and Brazil exchanged places, after the South Americans dropped one place to fourth.

Argentina round up the top five, holding on to their spot.
