Vidal, 31, arrived at the Camp Nou from Bayern in a £16m deal as the direct replacement for Paulinho and was expected to be a key figure in the Barca midfield.
With the departure of club icon Andres Iniesta, an opportunity arose for a new player to stake their claim alongside Ivan Rakitic in midfield but Vidal has earned just two starts across all competitions thus far.
And in the midweek UEFA Champions League victory over Tottenham, Brazilian Arthur Melo was the preferred choice to replace Ousmanne Dembele in the starting XI - which prompted the Chile international to post an angry emoji on social media.
However, from a source within the dressing room, there are no concerns over his apparent disdain of being snubbed.
"It would be more worrying if he didn't mind, it's logical that he is upset," was one comment to come out of the dressing room," the source revealed to Spanish publication Marca.
The report further stated that Vidal is likely to feature more prominently as he settles into his new surroundings as the season progresses.
