Ofere joins Lecce

Sources close to the player told KickOffNigeria.com that both parties had agreed on the switch, with a formal contract signing scheduled for early next week.

The 24-year-old joined Malmo in 2005 from Nigerian club Enugu Rangers, where his 24 goals in 85 appearances attracted interest from a host of European clubs, starting with Middlesbrough and Newcastle back in 2008.

This summer Ofere has been on the radar of several clubs, including English sides West Ham, West Bromwich Albion and Fulham.

Last week, he was reported to be on his way to Genk, and was even in the stands to see Genk go down 3-0 to Porto in the Europa League, but the deal failed to happen.
