Isaacs has confirmed that he has signed a permanent contract with the recently relegated National First Division outfit for the upcoming campaign.
Isaacs, an ex-Kaizer Chiefs defender, is no stranger to the NFD as he captained Royal Eagles during the 2014/15 season.
“I’m very grateful and looking forward to the opportunity of working with one of the most experienced coaches in the country,” Isaacs tells KickOff.com.
“Besides being an assistant to coach De Sa, I’ve been given the task to scout talented, young players as well.
“Look, our main goal is to win promotion immediately and therefore we need to have a decent crop of players. Having a good mix of experienced and young, talented players will be key in the quest to get back to the topflight.
“It’s definitely not gonna be easy and we’re under no illusion of the challenges in this league. It will require a lot of sacrifice, you know.
“We’ll have to be honest in our approach and must be prepared to fight and to put in a good shift.”
Isaacs’s former teammate at Ajax Cape Town Andre Petim has also joined Umoya as a goalkeeper coach.
“Roger is a person that is very hands on yet allows you to grow, whether as a player or coach. I’m very grateful he’s entrusted me and I’m willing to learn as much as I can under his tutelage,” says Petim of working under the former Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits mentor.
“Roger also has a very hands-on approach and will advise where one goes wrong. So, yes, this is a great and exciting new venture with him and our aim is to bounce back immediately,” adds the 32-year-old former Ajax shot-stopper.
