Heric was handed the reins at the Chilli Boys in March of this year but was unable to oversee a top-eight finish as United ended just one point outside of the MTN8-qualifying positions.
Chippa have since made the decision to return custody of the team to Dan Malesela, who was last in charge of the Port Elizabeth outfit at the start of the season before being relieved of his duties after just three games and replaced by Teboho Moloi, who himself was sacked six months later.
Chippa confirmed the news of Malesela's appointment on their official Twitter account, posting:
