Chippa United have strengthened their goalkeeper department ahead of the new season by bringing in Namibian international Lloyd Junior Kazapua.
Kazapua has signed on a one-year deal with an option of a further year.
He spent the past season playing the most games at Cape Umoya United in the GladAfrica Championship and has also previously been with Baroka and Maccabi.
"Kazapua has signed for Chippa and is already there. He will play as a local," says Charles Domingos, Kazapua’s representative.
The 32-year-old will have competition from Ugandan international Ismail Watenga and Ayanda Mtshali.
Meanwhile, Chippa are assessing the duo of Cheslyn Jampies and Jemondre Dickens.
The two were sacked by Baroka last week on disciplinary grounds regarding allegations that they reported late for duty.
They featured in the club’s friendly matches played in Cape Town over the weekend which games against Cape Town City and Cape Town Spurs.
Jampies (31) is a nomadic left-footer who played 20 games last term for Baroka with Dickens (23) featuring in just five.
Chippa have already also brought in Zimbabwean midfielder Gerald Takwara.
Takwara previously played for Ajax Cape Town and has in most recent times been back home.
