Omony in hospital after teargas in Durban

The game between Leopards and Arrows was called to a halt after violence erupted in Umlazi between supporters of the Inkatha Freedom Party and National Freedom Party.

Police had to be called to disperse the crowd in the area using teargas, which also ended up blowing into the stadium.

"There was political violence in an area here in Umlazi, which is not far away from the stadium, which also forced the police to fire teargas to disperse the violent crowd," Arrows PRO Vusimuzi Vilakazi tells KickOff.com.

"The smoke also affected the players and forced the Black Leopards goalkeeper to be rushed to hospital, as he was suffering from asthma and affected by the smoke."

Leopards coach Vladislav Heric confirms that Omony is still in hospital.

The match commissioner is yet to confirm the date for the replay match between Lidoda Duvha and Abafana Bes'thende.
