AmaZulu earn second win of the season

Both goals came just before the break, from Sthembiso Dlamini and then Collins Chabalala.

The game was suspended for over an hour due to bad light 20 minutes from time.

AmaZulu started the match brightly, with chances from Bradley Ritson and Mohammed-Awal Issah. Chabalala hit the bar from 12 yards out on 22 minutes.

Just before half-time, Nhlanhla Shabalala fouled Sthembiso Dlamini, and the young midfielder sent the resulting free kick into the top right of goal.

Less than a minute later, Masoeng Sillo sent a cross in to Collins Chabalala, who hit it with his left foot into the bottom right of goal.

AmaZulu continued to have the better of the possession and goal activity in the second half, until the referee decided to call the match off due to bad light with 20 minutes to go.

According to Ajax’s youngest veteran Brett Evans, who was suspended for the game, Ajax got dressed and were ready to leave when the referee announced the match would restart. The Ajax players initially refused to return to the field, but eventually the match got back underway, after a long break of over an hour.

There were no further goals, however, and the game ended 2-0.

It is the Durban club’s second win of the League season, the other coming over Thanda Royal Zulu, and takes them to tenth place on the log.

The Urban Warriors indifferent form continues, as they slip to seventh.
