The goals came from Mabhuti Khenyeza, Sifiso Vilikazi and Brett Evans for Ajax, before Bonakele Twala pulled one back for Arrows.
Ajax had the upper hand in the first half. Evans had the first attempt for the Cape side on four minutes, with a long-range shot that went wide, and Khenyeza forced a save from Helton da Rocha just two minutes later.
Kagisho Dikgacoi had a chance for the visitors 22 minutes in, when he got his head to a Joseph Musonda corner, but his attempt went wide, and the game went into half-time 0-0.
On the hour mark Franklyn Cale delivered the ball to Khenyeza in the area, but the former Kaizer Chiefs man’s shot was saved by Da Rocha.
Less than a minute later Ajax went ahead, when Nazeer Allie sent the ball through to Khenyeza, who fired in a shot low and hard past Da Rocha.
The home side made it 2-0 in the 69th minute, thanks again to Khenyeza, who passed the ball for Vilakazi to hit into the top right corner of the goal.
Ajax struck again on 72 minutes, through Evans, who headed in a Mkhanyiseli Siwahla corner.
Arrows got a goal back in the 77th minute through Twala, but it was too little to late for the Durban side.
