Polokwane claim Limpopo bragging rights

Baroka re-called Lesedi Mapheto and Onkabetse Makgantai to the starting line-up, while City decided hand Anas a start upfront.

Bakgaga Ba Ga Mpahlele nearly bagged the opening goal when Mduduzi Mdantsane’s left-footed volley hit the crossbar.

The hosts were made to rue that miss as Anas broke the deadlock with a top-corner finish from close proximity inside 18 minutes to put Rise and Shine ahead.

As either side failed to open up in the latter stages of the half, City took the honour of heading to halftime on the front-foot leaving Wedson Nyirenda with all to do in the locker-room.

However, Rise and Shine increased their advantage through a well-worked finish from Salulani Phiri on 55 minutes.

Bakgaga were cut down to ten men five minutes later when Makume received a straight red card.

As Polokwane appeared to run away with the contest, Collins Makgaka cut inside from the right to find the bottom corner with a composed finish to pull one back for Baroka.

In pure classy fashion, Anas completed his brace late on after holding off two challenges to beat Chipezeze with a composed finish to seal the win.
