Mngomeni brothers to host tournament

The inaugural Thabo and Thando Annual Games will be played from June 14 to 17, with 32 teams taking part. The teams will play over two-legs in the last round of 32. The winning team will bag R75 000, while second and third will go home with R15 000 and R10 000 respectively.

“It is an excellent platform for young players to showcase their soccer talent and for the community to enjoy brilliant soccer right on their doorstep. We are in conversation with the Local Municipality of Matatiele to become a partner and other businesses within Matatiele,” a statement from the brothers reads.

“Our aim is to give the youngsters the opportunity to showcase their talents and also to show scouts what Matatiele has to offer in terms of talent. We will be inviting some of the players that we played with in our careers and also scouts from teams across South Africa to come see the talent themselves. Hopefully some of the youngsters in this year’s tournament will get an opportunity to be part of the professional set-up.

“We look forward to the inaugural event & urge residents of the Matatiele and Alfred Nzo community and other surrounding areas to support this great development event.”

Teams across the Matatiele and Alfred Nzo regions are urged to register their teams for the tournament and can do so by contacting 079 750contact our team on 079 750 0381 by calling or even what’s app. The first 16 teams to register will receive a free kit.
