Cale's agent Glyn Binkin is currently in talks with the 2014 Indian Super League champions to secure a permanent move for the 33-year-old Cape Town-born player.
Cale was not handed a new contract by Ajax after being deemed as surplus to Roger De Sa’s plans for next season. The former Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United winger was plagued by injuries and did not live to expectations after returning to the Mother City from Gauteng.
According to Cale himself, the ball is currently in Kolkotta's court as they are assessing the situation.
"I've already sent them the video footage of myself as they requested. I'm hoping they like what they see in order for me to get the nod," the left-footed winger told our website.
‘Bolo’, as Cale is better known, says he is optimistic about the possibility of reviving his career overseas.
"Look, I'm reaching a stage of my career where I need to think about life after soccer, you know,” he said.
"I need to say thank you to Meegie (Sameehg Doutie) for informing me that his club was looking for a left winger.
"Sometimes when your former teammates have made a success overseas they tend to forget about their friends and former teammates.
"But he didn't and I must thank him for recommending me," Cale concludes.
