Papi: I don't see Bucs winning the cup

Nedbank Cup

Uthongathi FC coach Papi Zothwane does not believe Orlando Pirates can win the Nedbank Cup this season.

Zothwane's side lost 1-0 to the Buccaneers in the last 32 last weekend, with the DStv Premiership side needing a solitary strike from Gabadinho Mhango to get the win.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns star says the only reason they lost to the Soweto giants was due to his charges suffering stage fright at Orlando Stadium.

"There were moments where we lost the ball in wrong places," Zothwane tells KickOff.com.

"But I'm happy with my boys, Pirates I think at the end of the day they were not that much of a threat. I thought they were going to beat us by five or four or six [goals]. I thought they were gonna come guns blazing but on the day, it was not to be.

"Personally, the way I see thing, their body language...I saw ourselves playing against an ordinary team. You should be scared when you playing Pirates. But I found myself asking, 'Is this the real Pirates?' I'm not sure whether it's the coach or they are having problems, but I don't see them winning the Nedbank.

"I wish they can win but the way I saw things yesterday...you know when you want something? You show hunger and drive. I didn't see hunger and drive. But factors maybe...maybe players were tired, remember they play back-to-back games and their coach didn't change the team that much. Maybe it's fatigue but it was nothing like the Pirates I used to play against."
