AmaZayoni beat Maritzburg 2-0 to reach the quarter-finals, and while Ertugral feels they played some of their best football, he was also concerned that they again struggled to finish a game off.
Collins Mbesuma had scored in the first half and Aces dominated throughout, but they had to wait until injury-time at the end of the game before getting the second.
“The first 75 minutes was some of the best football we’ve played this season … it was really great,” he told SuperSport after the match.
“The biggest problem is generally looking to consolidate that situation. Then we scored, and that’s where our problem is – we could scored a second one, it was from a corner, [Sibusiso] Masina … alone on the volley. The game is then over.
“Obviously then in the minds of the team, they’re sitting a little bit on the ball, they’re sitting back. Maritzburg only really had the one chance they could have scored from, but in my opinion the game was actually controlled; we should have scored more.”
