Ralani gave City hope by pulling a goal back 20 minutes before time but was substituted towards the end as Sundowns ran out 2-1 winners in the Nedbank Cup quarter-final.
“It was nice to be on the field today Sundowns is a very good team so I had to show my quality against a team like this you know. It’s good,” Ralani told SuperSport TV.
“I hoped the one time or two I broke through we could have got one or two goals in the first half but we couldn’t and they got us on a counter in the second half and scored the goal.
“We had a very good game but they took it all it’s unfortunate for us. This is my best game for City so far I think.”
Ralani also explained why he came off in the latter stages of the second half.
“I had cramps on my calves so I told the coach I can’t carry on because the game was demanding too much towards the end as we were 2-1 down and needed fresh legs so I told the coach to put in someone else," he added.
