Marco Mthembu selects his best eleven made up of players from Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, with one very noticeable Amakhosi omission standing out.
Mthembu, who also played for The Brazilians and retired at Ajax Cape Town in 2005, was a member of the famous 'Operation Vat Alles' team that went on to win the Mandela Cup in 2001.
His journey with The Glamour Boys started in the nineties.
"Yes, in 1994 I was there for six months, I tried out under Philip Troussier when Chiefs were rebuilding," Mthembu tells KickOff.com.
"I played with the likes of Neil Tovey, [Johannes] 'Bricks' Mudau, Trevor Mthimkhulu, Shane McGregor, Lucas Radebe, Gardner Seale, Doctor Khumalo, Steve Crowley, Wellington Manyathi, etc.
"Great team. We actually won the BP Top 8 versus Sundowns and I was on the bench."
