Stellenbosch FC 4-1 Swallows FC

Stellenbosch FC went four points clear off second-place Orlando Pirates at the summit of the DStv Diski Challenge through a commanding 4-1 victory over Swallows FC on Saturday.

An own-goal put Stellies ahead before Jared van der Burg extended their lead. Mervin Boji and Shaun Morgan put the Maroons out of sight following the break amidst Swallows’ response.

Kaizer Chiefs 2-2 Golden Arrows

Kaizer Chiefs failed to secure back-to-back victories as they battled to an entertaining 2-2 draw against Golden Arrows at the Dobsonville Stadium.

The Amakhosi were ahead in the first 20 minutes through Thijs Jansen before Arrows replied courtesy of Jaylen Trent and went in front moments thereafter thanks to Sabelo Duma.

Abafana Besthende didn’t have the lead for long as Wandile Duba brought the Amakhosi back level with a cheeky back-heel finish and left the spoils shared.

Sekhukhune United 0-0 Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns were not able to follow up last week’s thrilling victory over Orlando Pirates and battled to a goalless draw against Sekhukhune United in Tembisa.

The draw ensures that the Brazilians remain seventh on the league standings, with Babina Noko stuck in the dreaded bottom-two slots.

Marumo Gallants FC 0-4 Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates maintained second spot after putting Marumo Gallants FC to the sword with a 4-0 thumping in Sunday’s DStv Diski Challenge action.

Pirates also returned to winning ways following last week’s loss to Mamelodi Sundowns with the goals from Nkosinathi Temba, Thabiso Monyane, Boitumelo Radiopane and Mpumelelo Ndaba.

TS Galaxy 1-2 SuperSport United

SuperSport United closed-in on the top with a 2-1 victory over TS Galaxy in the East Rand a week after beating the table-toppers Stellenbosch FC.

Matsatsantsa raced into a two-goal lead through Tendamudzimu Matodzi and Lyema Dopolo, but the Rockets fought back however United proved too strong in the end.

Cape Town City 1-3 Chippa United

Chippa United cemented fourth spot on the league table all through a 3-1 win over Cape Town City at the Malta Park Fields out in the Mother city.

The Chilli Boys efforts came courtesy of Zinedine De Kock, Vuyolwethu Dinge and Thulani Mini, as the Citizens stay mid-table following this defeat.

AmaZulu 3-0 Baroka FC

AmaZulu brought their quest to finish in the top-half alive courtesy of a 3-0 thumping over Baroka FC right at the King Zwelithini Stadium.

It took a brace from Nkululeko Masuku and a single finish from Phalane to hand Usuthu all the points and leave Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele empty handed.
