Veli Khumalo’s men were given a penalty of their own following the closing periods and Bafana Zitha stepped up and made no mistake.

Maritzburg United 3-6 Chippa United

Chippa United collected back-to-back wins as they crushed Maritzburg United 6-3 at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg.

The goals were flying in the first half with Thulani Mini and a spot-kick from Vuyolwethu Dinge putting Chippa on target before Cameron Carnell and Siphesihle Ngcobo had Maritzburg on board.

With the clash deadlocked, Chippa were back ahead through a spot-kick from Kamohelo Hoala in the second half but the host levelled again.

However, The Chilli Boys took total control afterwards through Mayihlome Kelly, Ridwaan Cerfonteyn and Aviwe Mqokozo to end Maritzburg’s resistance.

Stellenbosch FC 0-1 SuperSport United

League leaders Stellenbosch FC saw their ten-game unbeaten run in the league ended with a 1-0 loss to SuperSport United at the Idas Valley Sports Ground on Sunday.

The Maroons received a big chance to go ahead in the first 20 minutes, but Samkelo Xulu parried Liam De Kock’s penalty leaving Dan Tshimanga to give United the winner late on.

Cape Town City 1-3 TS Galaxy

TS Galaxy displayed a spirited performance to see off Cape Town City 3-1 at the Idas Valley Sports Ground to remain fifth on the table.

Matthew Haywood’s side got a goal back in the middle of the second half through Togeur Claasen, but Galaxy regained their two-goal advantage courtesy of Aphelele Teto and marched to victory.
