Orlando Pirates registered their second win in a row through a late 1-0 victory over the new boys Sekhukhune United at the Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday in the DStv Diski Challenge.
The away team pushed the Buccaneers to the edge from the first to the last whistle until Sonwabo Khumalo rose to the fore with the winning strike.

Kaizer Chiefs returned to winning ways following last week’s loss to Golden Arrows as goals either side of the half presented a 2-0 triumph over Swallows FC.
Chiefs grind out the opener through Sabelo Radebe midway following the first half before a last-gasp finish from Mthokozisi Balakazi ended matters.
Chippa United 0-0 Mamelodi Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns’s inconsistent start continued after settling for a goalless draw against Chippa United in Gqeberha.
As such, Chippa was unable to overturn their previous loss to Orlando Pirates whereas Sundowns missed out on successive wins after seeing off AmaZulu a week ago.
Maritzburg United 0-3 Stellenbosch FC
Stellenbosch FC swept their previous loss to Baroka FC under the carpet to record a 3-0 win on the road against Maritzburg United.
Maritzburg, who last week played to a 1-1 draw against Royal AM, allowed Olwethu Nyembe, Mervin Boji and Tsepo Myeni to steer Stellies to an enthralling victory in Pietermaritzburg.
Golden Arrows 0-2 TS Galaxy
Golden Arrows were brought down to earth from last week’s win over Kaizer Chiefs with a 2-0 loss against TS Galaxy at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday.
Numerous missed chances from the two happened before Aphelele Teto netted the opener and an added time finish from Ndumiso Xulu compounded matters to take his side top ahead of Chiefs.
Cape Town City 4-1 Marumo Gallants FC
Cape Town City finally registered their first win of the season in style following a comprehensive 4-1 thumping of Marumo Gallants FC, whose unbeaten run ended.
Before then, the Citizens hadn’t won from their opening two matches which saw two losses as Gallants missed out on top spot.
Baroka FC 1-0 SuperSport United
SuperSport United weren’t able to climb up the table after going down 1-0 to Baroka FC in a bottom-half contest in Polokwane.
Its back-to-back victories for Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele following last week’s win over Stellenbosch but for Matsatsantsa its consecutive defeats.
AmaZulu 2-3 Royal AM
Defending champions AmaZulu lost their second match in a row as Royal AM recorded a 3-2 win in the KwaZulu-Natal derby to go second on the log.
Royal AM made their intentions clear with quick goals from Thabane Gumede and Sphenhle Mkhize, but Usuthu hit back through Sifundo Nkosi and Khayelihle Phakathi.
However, the final say belonged to Royal AM who netted the winner after halftime courtesy of a deft close-range finish from Sanele Radebe to leave Usuthu in the bottom-three and winless.
