Manyama comes in at arguably just the right moment for The Glamour Boys, who are in dire need of intervention in their Absa Premiership campaign.
Not only is it opportune timing for the club, but also for Manyama, who comes in when Chiefs are just three matches away from ending their three-year trophy drought.
Following a frustrating spell abroad in Turkey, the Bafana Bafana forward is ecstatic to join the club of his former neighbour Brian Baloyi, but more importantly he is hungry to win some silverware again.
“It’s a dream come true. I have supported Chiefs from a young age. I grew up on the same street as Brian Baloyi in Alexandra, and that’s how I fell in love with the club," Manyama is quoted as saying on the Amakhosi website.
“I now want to help the club win trophies and to achieve glory, because that’s what the Kaizer Chiefs brand represents to me.”
Depending on his fitness, the 27-year-old could make his debut in this weekend's MTN8 semi-final first leg against his former employers SuperSport United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
The match is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 15h00, and due to his free-agent status, Manyama can be registered without any extra paperwork required.
