News that Pitso Mosimane supposedly resigned from Mamelodi Sundowns trended on social media on Wednesday and this is why.
Mosimane signed a new four-year contract in May reportedly worth close to R65-million, after several months of uncertainty surrounding his long-term future at the club.
With Sundowns actively securing several new players for the 2020/21 season, reports with the hashtag #PitsoResignsFromSundowns found its way to trending on Twitter, suggesting the 56-year-old resigned.
This came as a complete shock to many, but Masandawana fans have little to worry about.

However, it appears the fake news that spread like wildfire derived from a media report from a local publication that claimed Mosimane would leave after a standoff with the club's hierarchy over the hiring of a new technical director.
Many users added fuel to the fire claiming that Bobby Motaung's recent suspension from Kaizer Chiefs was linked to the decision, and it's shown that fake news travels much faster than real news in today's times.
While it's since been clarified that 'Jingles' will definitely remain at the helm of 2016 CAF Champions League winners, he's set to lead the Brazilians against Bidvest Wits on Saturday (19h15) in the Nedbank Cup semi-final at the Orlando Stadium.
