Solinas: Patrick is a nice boy, he’s loyal

Solinas has been at the helm a little over three months now and has endured a rollercoaster ride thus far, in the sense that Amakhosi have yet to find their consistency.

In 15 games in all competitions, Chiefs have won four, lost four and drawn seven.

Prior to the Soweto Derby, a lot of talk was centred around Orlando Pirates’ deputy Rhulani Mokwena and his unsettling comments that seemingly played a key role in their victory on the day.

Meanwhile, Mabedi, who also previously served under former coach Steve Komphela, has been quietly going about his business alongside the Italian.

“I am happy with Mabedi. Patrick is a nice boy. He’s loyal; he’s an ex-captain of Kaizer Chiefs; he played for the club for 10 years and his contribution is very good,” said Solinas.

“Patrick helps me a lot in my job, he gives good advice to the players, especially the defenders because he’s a former defender, so I am happy.

“I am happy with the behaviour of Patrick, I am happy with his job and there’s no problem – absolutely. Patrick is positive for Chiefs, not negative.”
