Fikizolo only made two starts against Orlando Pirates and Free State Stars in December before being ruled out for the rest of the campaign with a broken foot sustained in training.
Larsen relied on the likes of Velemseni Ndwandwe, Kudakwashe Mahachi (now at Orlando Pirates), Nduduzo Sibiya and Danny Venter on the flanks in the absence of the 24-year-old, who has since made a full recovery.
"The injury I had, it absolutely hampered me badly because I couldn't finish the season. What is more worse is I had the problem of I wasn't at the point of playing all the matches," Fikizolo tells KickOff.com.
"So it is when I was starting to regain my form back and starting and then things turned out the worse for me to get the injury. It really hurt me a lot, so much. It didn't go down well with me.
"Now I'm done with the rehab and now I'm fully recovered. We opened for the pre-season, which was on Monday, and I'm back training with the team. So I'm looking forward to the new season.
"Hopefully my heart will quickly accept that I was injured and play football again. But it won't be easy after five months without playing football and staying at home."
The former SuperSport United man, who has spent three-and-a-half seasons with Arrows, adds: "Luckily I'm still young and before the off-season I had already started my pre-season.
"But all I can say is I'm prepared to fight and play. I think I'll get my focus back knowing things are not the same and I have to start afresh and revive my career."
Abafana Bes'thende will open the 2018/19 season against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 quarter-finals away in August.
