Platinum City Rovers coach, Ashwin Sutton has detailed the reason for veteran midfielder, Oupa Manyisa's delay in making his long-awaited debut.
Manyisa officially signed with Rovers after being assessed for a period of three weeks.
The 33-year-old had been without a team since the beginning of the season after parting ways with Chippa United in June.
Sutton confirmed that Manyisa could be ready for a return to action over the next two weeks.
"He is still working on his fitness," Sutton tells KickOff.com.
"He joined us when we were already three weeks into our pre-season schedule.
"We also had started late with our pre-season but thanks to the international window it has helped us to work on our fitness.
"He should be ready in two weeks. But our physical trainer is working hard to speed up the process," Sutton added.
Rovers are yet to taste defeat in their maiden campaign in the GladAfrica Championship and have impressed with three wins from their first three fixtures so far this season.
"It’s still early days but I am happy with the support we've been getting from the chairman, CEO, support staff, technical team and the commitment from the players so far this season," a delighted Sutton added.
