TTM in disarray ahead of new season?

GladAfrica Championship

Despite only being left with about 72 hours before they play their first official game in the Gladafrica Championship, KickOff.com has learnt that TTM has yet to finalise their squad.

TTM are back into professional football after bought the status of Royal AM.

According to an agreement with PSL, the Limpopo-based side are due to take over contracts of all the players that were still in the books of Royal AM before they bought the status of Bloemfontein Celtic and gain entrance to PSL this season.

According to information gathered by this website, the players who are part of the deal between Royal Am and TTM are still stuck in Pietermaritzburg.

"The players were set to leave Kwazulu Natal for Limpopo at 7am this morning but they are still here in Pietermaritzburg," the source in KZN explained.

"There is also a big problem. Some of these players their contracts with Royal AM expired last season and they were still in negotiations for new deals. Now they have to go and trial again at TTM. There is a lot of confusion."

TTM are due to host Cape Town All Stars for their second-tier league opener at Thoyandou Stadium.

"This means the players from Royal AM could only train with the club on Friday because of fatigue due to distance of travelling from Durban to Limpopo today," concluded the source.

Efforts to get hold of Royal AM official Richard Makhoba to comment about the players' departure to Limpopo to join TTM proved futile after failing to answers calls on Wednesday morning.

South African Football Players Union spokesperson, Calvin Motloung has confirmed that the players who are part of the deal between TTM and Royal AM are still in Pietermaritzburg.

"Yes, the players are still in Durban. But I just heard now that the bus is there waiting for them and might leave soon for Limpopo," said Motloung.

"The issue of some players not having contracts but were still training with Royal AM has also been brought to our attention and the Union will look at that.

"The sad part is that most of the clubs have assembled their squads for the new season and if TTM doesn't sign those players what will happen with their careers this season."
