Siwahla announces shock retirement

Former Ajax Cape Town midfielder Mkhanyiseli Siwahla has announced his immediate retirement from football.

Siwahla made the sudden announcement at the age of 33-years-old during an interview with Kickoff.com on Tuesday.

The former SA youth international became the youngest player in South African professional football to score a goal at the age of 15 years old during an ABSA Cup clash against Dynamos.

Siwahla last featured for Prochi Poinki in Poland this year.

"I have decided to retire from football," Siwahla tells Kickoff.com.

"You know the story with South African football. At the right time, we will sit down and do an interview.

"For now I am a little bit busy with some projects and preparing my life after football.

Siwahla also represented Bloemfontein Celtic, Chippa United and Mpumalanga Black Aces during an 18-year career in the top-flight.
