Documentary for SA soccer legend

GladAfrica Championship

Pretoria Callies are ready to go all out to win promotion to the DStv Premiership next season as part of their plans to honour their legend Lucas 'Masterpieces' Moripe for his contribution to South African football.

Callies remain one of the dark horses to gain promotion to the PSL next season as The Romans sit five points behind GladAfrica Championship leaders Richards Bay with a game in hand.

The Tshwane-based side have also qualified for the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals after beating JDR Stars on penalties this past weekend.

Callies boss Moses Malada, who was instrumental in reviving the club, has confirmed the club is also preparing a documentary about Moripe's life and career in football.

"Mr Lucas Moripe remains an integral part of our team. There is nothing we do without consulting him and he is the number one supporter for this club," Malada tells

"The club is busy with his documentary amongst other things to honour his legacy in football. We have spoken to people that know him, and some played with him, about his exciting and interesting history in football."

In other news, Malada confirmed the departure of assistant coach Sly Mosala today and wished him well in his future endeavours.

Mosala's resignation to join Sekhukhune United, as revealed by this website earlier today, has raised a lot of eyebrows at a time when the club is fighting for promotion.
