'Neymar' moves back to second-tier

GladAfrica Championship

KickOff.com can confirm that Onyedikachi 'Neymar' Ononogbu is returning to JDR Stars in the first division following the end of his season-long loan deal at Black Leopards.

Ononogbu managed 14 appearances for Leopards scoring once with his last coming on March 21 against Mamelodi Sundowns.

It was then reported that he along with Lifa Hlongwane and Tebogo Makovela were suspended for taking part at the Thabiso Semenya Easter just a day after Leopards lost 1-0 at home to AmaZulu.

All three players were in the matchday squad that day in the defeat to Usuthu on April 4.

Only Makobela was able to play again since the suspension featuring towards the end of the season while Ononogbu and Hlongwane never played again.

This website now has confirmation from Ononogbu that he will be heading back to JDR Stars where he still has a year remaining on his contract.

Ononogbu joined JDR Stars after previously having been with Tshakhum Tsha Madzivhandila.

The 23-year-old has now been back home in Ivory Park hosting an off-season Under-23 tournament.

Ononogbu was born to a Nigerian father and South African mother but raised in Johannesburg getting to feel the pain of being discriminated against while growing up just because of his Nigerian name.
