Ex-Leopards captain tries luck at Callies

GladAfrica Championship

Former Black Leopards captain Jean Djunga Munganga has resurfaced at Pretoria Callies.

Munganga has been without a team since parting ways with Leopards last season.

The 30-year-old defender was spotted with Callies during a friendly match against Shaka Residence Pick Team in Pretoria on Saturday,

He is now looking forward to reuniting with his former coach Joel Masutha after working together at Lidoda Duvha.

According to one of the senior officials at the club, Callies are close to making a decision on the Congolese defender.

"He is training with the club. We had a fixture on Tuesday and we are playing also on Saturday. We haven't had enough time to look at him. The club should make a decision by end of this week," the official tells KickOff.com.

Meanwhile, Callies have roped in Steven MacFarlane to bolster their technical team. He replaces Sly Mosala, who left the Romans recently to join Sekhukhune United.

Callies are set to host Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.
