Polokwane City grabbed their first three points of the season after beating Cape Town Spurs 2-0 on Saturday at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Hlayisi Chauke gave Rise and Shine the lead in the 16th minute and City sealed the three points with the second goal deep in stoppage time.

Platinum City Rovers 3-2 JDR Stars

Platinum City Rovers maintained their winning start to the season after edging JDR Stars in a five-goal thriller on Saturday at Olen Park Stadium.

Thabiso Nkoana netted twice for City Rovers while William Radebe was also on the scoresheet for the hosts.

Tapiwa Madinyenya and Temptation Chiwunga scored for JDR but it was not enough to avoid their first defeat.

City Rovers climbed to the top of the log, the only side with six points.

Tiklas Thutlwa gave Leopards an early lead in the eighth minute but they conceded a penalty just before the hour-mark that allowed Issa Sarr to level matters for Uthongathi.

Lidoda Duvha were reduced to ten men just after that but the hosts could not capitalise on their numerical advantage for the last half-an-hour or so.

University of Pretoria won their first game of the campaign after a narrow 1-0 win over Jomo Cosmos on Sunday afternoon at ABSA Tuks Stadium.

AmaTuks broke the deadlock just before the break and Ezenkosi could not rally back in the game and lost their second consecutive game by the same scoreline.
