JDR Stars missed the chance to further extend their lead the top of the GladAfrica Championship table after a 1-0 loss to Uthongathi on Sunday afternoon at Princess Magogo Stadium.

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Issa Sarr broke the deadlock for Uthongathi midway through the first stanza and that proved to be the winner, as the KwaZulu-Natal side moved up to third on the table.

Black Leopards halted their four-game losing run after edging Platinum City Rovers 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Lidoda Duvha got an early goal and Tiklas Thutlwa doubled their lead early in the second stanza.

City Rovers pulled a goal back seven minutes before time but Leopards held on to maximum points.

Pretoria Callies ended their two-game losing streak after edging Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Kgomotso Mosadi eventually broke the deadlock for Callies in the 66th minute but the hosts conceded a penalty in the last 14 minutes that was converted by Manzini for TTM.

Jomo Cosmos were denied their first win after playing to a 1-1 draw with Free State Stars on Saturday afternoon at Tsakane Stadium.

D'angelo Kazeem opened the scoring for Ea Lla Koto in the 18th minute and Thabo Maphakisa levelled matters for Ezenkosi in the 33rd minute.

Hungry Lions lost their third match in a row after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Venda Football Academy on Saturday afternoon at Sivos Training Centre Stadium.
