GladAfrica Championship leaders leaders Platinum City Rovers lost for the first time after going down 2-0 against Pretoria Callies on Saturday afternoon at Olen Park.

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Edmore Chirambandare gave Callies an early lead in the third minute before Philani Cele doubled the visitors' lead in the 19th minute and that was enough to secure their first win.

JDR Stars 2-3 Polokwane City

Polokwane City moved up to second on the table after edging JDR Stars in a five-goal thriller on Sunday afternoon at Giant Stadium.

City raced to a two-goal lead, scoring in the first stanza and early in the second stanza but Ishmael Wadi and Tapiwa Madinyenya got two goals from behind for JDR.

However, Rise and Shine snatched the winner in the last three minutes.

University of Pretoria extended their unbeaten run to five matches after playing to a goalless stalemate with Black Leopards on Sunday afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium.

AmaTuks' only defeat came in the first match of the season, as they occupied sixth spot on the log with nine points while Lidoda Duvha moved up slightly to 11th on the table with seven points.
